A 10 basic S002 is a redesigned analytical batch mill for grinding hard, brittle, soft and fibrous materials in volumes up to 50 ml. Tough, fatty or water-containing samples can also be processed after embrittlement in the grinding chamber. Safety is central: the mill starts only with the lid closed, the lid opens only at standstill, and a quick-stop function further protects the user. Results remain comparable with the predecessor A 10 because the grinding chamber, beater geometry and speed are identical. Practical features include a digital timer, a counter that displays grinding duration, interval operation, a brushless motor for long service life and low noise, integrated cooling-water connections, an error-code display and simple foil-keypad control. Beaters and knives are easily exchanged for different applications; a chamber-volume reducer for small sample amounts and the stainless-steel beater A 10.1 are supplied. The bayonet lid opens and closes quickly. This UK-plug version from manufacturer IKA is supplied as a complete 1 pc unit for routine laboratory sample preparation.
