Description
Apiezon® grease, N is a specialised laboratory vacuum and grinding grease formulated for reliable sealing performance at cryogenic and low temperatures. It is intended for use in the temperature range between −269 and +30 °C, making it suitable for cold-trap joints, low-temperature vacuum lines and related laboratory assemblies where conventional greases become too stiff. The material exhibits a flash point above 200 °C and a boiling point above 500 °C, supporting stable handling under typical laboratory vacuum conditions. Supplied in a convenient 25 g pack with a net weight of 0,040 kg, this grade is widely applied as a grinding and vacuum grease or release aid on ground-glass joints and mating surfaces. Apiezon® N grease from manufacturer M+I Materials belongs to the established Apiezon family used in analytical, physical and vacuum laboratories. It fits routine maintenance of glassware, stopcocks and demountable vacuum connections that must remain sealed across extreme cold without compromising ease of separation when joints are later opened.

What is this article?
Apiezon® grease, N, Use in temp. range betw. -269 and +30 °C, 25 g is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes M+I Materials for laboratory use. It sits in Grease, boiling stones & sealants, inside Tools & accessories, in Labware.
Grease seals a ground joint. Boiling stones give a liquid a place to start boiling so it does not bump. A sealant does the same job as grease when grease would contaminate the product. They are small, and they decide whether a joint weeps.
The small tools of the bench are what the hand actually holds: a spatula for a powder, forceps for an object that must stay clean, a brush for a narrow neck, a desiccator when a dried sample must not take up water again. None of these reads a measurement. They keep the measurement possible. The apparatus around them is listed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
