Description

Benchtop turbidity meter, ISO 7027, 230 V is a high-precision laboratory turbidity instrument compliant with ISO 7027 and designed for low-range work such as drinking-water analysis. Its optical system and measurement technique deliver long-term stability, minimise stray light and colour interference, compensate lamp-intensity fluctuations and thereby reduce calibration frequency. Four methods are available: nephelometric (90°), transmitted-light, ratio and non-ratio. Ranges include FNU 0,00 to 9,99; 10,0 to 99,9; 100 to 1000; FAU 10,0 to 99,9; 100 to 4000; NTU 0,00 to 9,99; 10,0 to 99,9; 100 to 4000 (and EBC up to 980); plus non-ratio NTU to 1000 and EBC to 245, with automatic range selection. Resolutions are 0,01; 0,1 or 1 FNU/NTU (and matching FAU/EBC steps). Typical accuracy is ±2% of reading plus stray light for FNU/NTU (±10% FAU; ±5% above 1000 NTU). An infrared LED and silicon photocell support ISO 7027 measurement in normal, average and continuous modes. The backlit LCD offers contextual help and tutorial mode; calibration reaches five points, with GLP features, 200-reading memory and USB PC interface. Supplied with six capped cuvettes, turbidity standard kit, silicone oil, cleaning cloth and 12 VDC adapter, this instrument from manufacturer Hanna Instruments measures 230 x 200 x 145 mm and weighs 2,5 kg.

What is this article?

benchtop turbidity meter, ISO 7027, 230V is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Dissolved oxygen & multiparameter meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A dissolved-oxygen meter reads oxygen in a liquid, optically or with a Clark cell. A multiparameter meter adds pH, conductivity or both on one instrument. The sensor cap or the membrane is the consumable. A reading in air and a reading in water are different calibrations.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
