Description

BOLA Centre magnetic stirring bars measuring approximately 30 mm in length and 8 mm in diameter are PTFE-encapsulated magnetic stirrers for laboratory mixing. Each unit incorporates an Alnico 5 magnetic core completely covered by polytetrafluoroethylene, delivering universal chemical resistance for use with aggressive media and common laboratory solvents. Conically tapered ends promote smooth, low-friction rotation against vessel bases and help the bar remain centred during stirring. The round bar geometry is suited to flasks, beakers and other standard reaction vessels on magnetic stirrer plates. These BOLA stirring bars from manufacturer Bohlender combine inert PTFE surfaces with a strong permanent-magnet core for dependable performance in routine and research applications. They are supplied in packs of 10 pieces, with a net weight of 0,006 kg per bar. The PTFE overcoat shields the magnet from corrosion while preserving chemical inertness at the liquid interface. These centre magnetic stirring bars support consistent agitation across aqueous and organic systems where PTFE compatibility is required.

What is this article?

BOLA Center Magnetic Stirring Bars, L 30 mm Ø ca. 8 mm PTFE - coated with conica is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Magnetic stirring bars, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A magnetic stirring bar is the magnet coated in PTFE that spins inside a vessel, driven by a stirrer underneath. Length and shape, plain, oval or cross, have to suit the flask. A bar left against a dry glass wall will grind it.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
