Description

BOLA laboratory screw joints with O-ring for GL 14 threads secure tubing with an outer diameter of 1,0 mm in laboratory fluid systems. The red screw cap is made from glass-fibre reinforced ETFE, while the inner assembly comprises a clamping ring in ETFE plus a sealing wedge and sealing plate in PTFE. For hose outer diameters below 3 mm an additional O-ring is fitted that remains out of contact with the flow medium, so the medium touches only PTFE. This arrangement delivers very good chemical resistance for solvents and reagents used in analytical and preparative work. Offered as 1 pc with a net weight of 0,02 kg, the fitting from manufacturer Bohlender is intended for GL 14 necks where inert wetted surfaces and dependable mechanical clamping are required. The fluoropolymer construction supports clean, leak-resistant connections on thin tubing without exposing the O-ring to the process stream. Suitable for chemical, pharmaceutical and research laboratories that need reliable GL screw joints for small-diameter hose lines.

This article is part of Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about BOLA Laboratory Screw Joints with O-ring, GL 14, Ø 1,0 mm Glass-fibre reinforced

What is this article?

BOLA Laboratory Screw Joints with O-ring, GL 14, Ø 1,0 mm Glass-fibre reinforced is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
