Description

BOLA blind plug with 4 mm outer diameter is a compact PTFE stopper for sealing unused ports on BOLA fittings. Made entirely of polytetrafluoroethylene, it provides a chemically inert closure that helps keep open connection points free from contamination, evaporation or accidental leakage when a line is not in service. The plug is intended for fitting connections designed around a 4 mm outer diameter and is used together with a matching PTFE–glass-fibre nut to secure the seal. Its small format and low net weight of 0,002 kg make it practical for multi-port manifolds and modular tubing setups in the laboratory. Offered in a pack of 10 pieces from manufacturer Bohlender, these blind plugs support flexible configuration of fluid-handling assemblies: ports that are temporarily idle can be closed cleanly and reopened later without replacing the entire fitting. Suitable for general laboratory fluid systems where PTFE compatibility and reliable blanking of spare outlets are required.

This article is part of Rubber & silicone stoppers, in Stoppers, caps & closures.

Questions about BOLA Plugs, aØ 4 mm PTFE, for BOLA-fittings

What is this article?

BOLA Plugs, aØ 4 mm PTFE, for BOLA-fittings is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Rubber & silicone stoppers, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

A rubber or silicone stopper is pushed into a mouth. The size number corresponds to a top and bottom diameter. Silicone survives higher temperatures and more autoclave cycles. Natural rubber is attacked by oils and by some solvents.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
