Description

BOLA reducer A= Ø 16 mm, B= Ø 4 mm is a straight PTFE connecting piece fitted with PTFE-glass fibre nuts for coupling hoses or tubes of unequal outer diameters. Side A carries fitting thread M 28 x 2 for 16 mm outer-diameter hose and a 6 mm bore; side B carries fitting thread M 14 x 2 for 4 mm outer-diameter hose. The medium contacts only PTFE, so the fitting offers broad chemical resistance for laboratory transfer lines, reagent distribution and process tubing that must remain free of metallic wetted surfaces. Supplied as one piece with a net weight of 0,068 kg, the reducer provides a compact, inert step from larger to smaller tubing in analytical, preparative and pilot-scale setups. This BOLA component from manufacturer Bohlender combines a PTFE body with glass-fibre-reinforced nuts to deliver secure mechanical grip while preserving full chemical inertness at the fluid interface.

Questions about BOLA Reducing Unions, A= Ø 16mm B= Ø 4mm PTFE, glass-fibre reinforced PTFE nut

What is this article?

BOLA Reducing Unions, A= Ø 16mm B= Ø 4mm PTFE, glass-fibre reinforced PTFE nut is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
