Description

BOLA gas washing bottles with a 500 ml capacity provide a compact PFA/PTFE assembly for laboratory gas scrubbing and washing applications. The bottle body is manufactured from PFA and is closed by a PTFE head fitted with two threaded connections for secure tubing attachment. A standard frit of porous PTFE with approximately 3 µm pore size is screwed to the riser on an M8×1 thread; it can be replaced by a PTFE gas distributor with fine bores when operation at lower inlet pressure is preferred. Overall height is 200 mm, and the two hose ports accept tubing of 6 mm outer diameter. Nominal volume is 0,5 l and net weight is 0,32 kg. Supplied as a single unit from manufacturer Bohlender, the bottle combines fluoropolymer chemical resistance with a replaceable frit interface, making it suitable for routine gas purification, scrubbing liquids, and inert gas handling in research and quality-control laboratories where glass-free wetted parts are advantageous.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
