Description

BOLA Standard Ground Joint Stirrer Seal NS 24/29 is a laboratory stirrer closure built around a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) ground joint core with raised sealing rings for sealing in the ground joint socket. Thanks to the reduced contact area of the rings, the core can be loosened more readily in the socket, which helps limit glass breakage. A specialised PTFE seal incorporating an FKM O-ring works with the dosed pressure of the GL screw cap made of PPS to seal correctly against the stirrer shaft. It is dimensioned for stirrer shafts of 8 mm diameter, with an overall length of approximately 69 mm and a GL 25 cap thread. The European standard NS 24/29 joint size fits typical laboratory glassware used for stirring under sealed conditions. This PTFE component from manufacturer Bohlender uses the BOLA arrangement of PPS screw cap and PTFE/FKM sealing elements. Offered as 1 pc with a net weight of 0,08 kg, it is suited to NS 24/29 setups that require a practical ground-joint stirrer seal for 8 mm shafts.

This article is part of Lids & seals, in Stoppers, caps & closures.

Questions about BOLA Stirrer Bearings, NS 24/29 Ø 8 mm GL 25 PTFE, PTFE/FKM gasket

What is this article?

BOLA Stirrer Bearings, NS 24/29 Ø 8 mm GL 25 PTFE, PTFE/FKM gasket is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Lids & seals, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

Lids and seals are the covers of dishes, jars and tanks: a snap lid, a sealing film, a gasket. The seal is doing the work. A lid that only rests on the rim does not contain a volatile liquid.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
