Description

ISE electrode for bromine is a solid-state half-cell ion-selective electrode in an epoxy body, designed for determination of bromide in emulsions, beverages, plants and soil, and for use as an indicator in titrations. The measuring range extends from 1 M to 10⁻⁶ M, corresponding to 79910 to 0,08 mg/l. Optimal pH range is 2 to 12,5 and the operating temperature range is 0 to 80 °C, with an approximate slope of −56. The sensor body is epoxy resin with dimensions Ø 12 mm × 120 mm immersion depth and is fitted with a 1 m coaxial cable and BNC connector. A separate reference electrode HI5315 is required for operation. This half-cell configuration from manufacturer Hanna Instruments supports bromide analysis in diverse sample matrices as well as potentiometric titration indication. Net weight is 0,246 kg and gross weight 1,246 kg. Supplied as one piece, it is intended for laboratories performing solid-state ISE bromide measurements with a compatible reference half-cell and meter.

Questions about Bromide Half-Cell Ion Selective Electrode, Solid State

What is this article?

Bromide Half-Cell Ion Selective Electrode, Solid State is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
