Description

b.safe Funnel 180 is a polyethylene (PE) laboratory funnel for the disposal of liquid waste. The Ø 180 mm body connects to collection containers through an S 51 thread using a freely rotatable cap that is permanently joined to the inlet neck, enabling secure mounting on the vessel. A removable sieve keeps magnetic stir bars and other solids out of the waste stream and can be taken out for cleaning. The splash guard helps prevent overflow and splashing while the funnel is being filled, and the ball valve protects users from harmful vapours that may leave the container. This PE version is supplied with two attachable filling-tube segments to support subsurface filling; an earthing cable is not part of this configuration. Part of the b.safe Funnel 180 family from manufacturer Bohlender, the design is offered in several variants so laboratories can match sieve, splash protection and vapour-control options to their waste-disposal workflow. The unit is supplied as a single piece for routine liquid-waste collection tasks in the laboratory.

This article is part of Solvent waste caps, safety funnels & canisters, in Waste disposal.

What is this article?

b.safe Funnels 180, S 51 - Ø 180 mm made of PE, with sieve, splash guard, ball v is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Solvent waste caps, safety funnels & canisters, inside Waste disposal, in Lab safety equipment.

A solvent waste cap and a safety funnel close a waste can so vapour does not fill the room, while still letting waste be poured in. The thread has to match the can. A filter and a level indicator are common features. An open beaker of waste solvent is not this article.

Laboratory waste is sorted before it is carried away. A solvent waste can has a cap and often a funnel that limits vapour. A sharps container is rigid and closable. An autoclave bag is for material that will be sterilised before it is ordinary waste. The container has to survive the chemical that goes into it. A bag that dissolves is not a container. Classification of the chemicals is on ECHA. Transport of dangerous goods is the UNECE framework. Workplace practice is EU-OSHA.
