Description

Centrifuge 5702 (EU-IVD) is a non-refrigerated benchtop centrifuge with rotary-knob controls, supplied with rotor A-4-38 and adapters for conical 15 mL and 50 mL vessels. The package includes two sets of two adapters and runs on 230 V/50 – 60 Hz (EU). Maximum capacity for conical vessels per rotor is 8 × 15 mL or 4 × 50 mL; these adapters are not compatible with the aerosol-tight caps of this rotor. The instrument is a non-automatic centrifuge for separating liquid substance mixtures from the human body and is specifically intended for use as an accessory together with an in-vitro diagnostic device according to its intended purpose. It meets the requirements of EU In-Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR) 2017/746. From manufacturer Eppendorf, the centrifuge is designed exclusively for indoor use by trained specialist personnel. Net weight is 20 kg and gross weight 26,200 kg, with packaging volume 0,124 m³, providing a complete ready-to-operate solution for routine IVD-related laboratory centrifugation.

This article is part of Rotors, in Centrifuges.

Questions about Centrifuge 5702/230V A-4-38 + Adapter

What is this article?

Centrifuge 5702/230V A-4-38 + Adapter is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Eppendorf for laboratory use. It sits in Rotors, inside Centrifuges, in Lab instruments.

A centrifuge rotor is the rotating part that holds the tubes, and it is rated for a maximum speed and a maximum load. A swing-out rotor and a fixed-angle rotor pellet differently. A rotor from another centrifuge does not belong on this drive, even when it seems to fit.

A centrifuge separates by density. The rotor spins the sample and the force is reported as a multiple of gravity, not as a raw speed, because the same revolutions per minute are a different force at a different radius. A microcentrifuge takes small tubes. A benchtop or floor model takes larger rotors. The tube, the adapter and the rotor have to be the combination the manufacturer rated. An unbalanced load is how centrifuges fail. Measurement of the related quantities sits with the BIPM.
