Description

CHROMABOND SiOH columns, 3 mL, 500 mg BIGpack are solid-phase extraction (SPE) columns filled with unmodified silica (SiOH) for sample preparation and clean-up in analytical chromatography workflows. Each column offers a 3 mL bed volume and a 500 mg sorbent load, supporting polar interactions typical of bare silica phases in normal-phase SPE and related laboratory applications. The housing is polypropylene (PP) and is fitted with polyethylene (PE) filter elements to retain the sorbent bed during conditioning, loading, washing and elution steps. Supplied as a BIGpack from manufacturer Macherey-Nagel, the set comprises 250 columns packed in five bags of 50 pieces, suited to higher-throughput laboratories that need a consistent SiOH format without frequent reordering. These chromatography accessories fit standard SPE manifolds and vacuum or positive-pressure processing setups used in environmental, food, pharmaceutical and clinical sample preparation. The SiOH chemistry is widely chosen when polar analyte retention or matrix simplification on unmodified silica is required prior to HPLC, GC or other instrumental analysis.

Questions about Chromab. columns SiOH, 3 mL, 500 mg BIG

What is this article?

Chromab. columns SiOH, 3 mL, 500 mg BIG is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Macherey-Nagel for laboratory use. It sits in SPE cartridges & columns, inside SPE & sample preparation, in Chromatography equipment.

An SPE cartridge holds a bed of sorbent. Bed mass, sorbent chemistry and volume are the specification. A 100 mg C18 cartridge and a 1 g C18 cartridge take different sample loads and different elution volumes. The method names all three.

Solid-phase extraction holds a compound on a sorbent while the rest of the sample is washed away, then releases it in a small volume. The sorbent, the bed mass and the solvents are the method. Silica, ion exchangers and polymer phases do different jobs. A flash column is the same idea scaled toward purification rather than trace cleanup. The molecules are on PubChem, named by IUPAC.
