Description

CHROMABOND sorbents XTR are kieselguhr (diatomaceous earth) sorbent portions intended for sample preparation and liquid–liquid extraction style workflows on NT20 systems. Each pack contains 50 bags of 14,5 g kieselguhr, with every portion sized for sample volumes up to 20 mL. Matching polyethylene filter elements are included—50 PE filter discs with a diameter of 10 mm—so the sorbent can be retained cleanly during use. This combination supports efficient distribution of aqueous samples over the high-surface kieselguhr bed and subsequent elution of analytes into a suitable organic phase, a classic approach in chromatography sample clean-up. Offered by manufacturer Macherey-Nagel, the XTR format gives laboratories pre-portioned sorbent ready for NT20 applications without bulk weighing for every run. The defined 14,5 g fill and accompanying 10 mm PE filters help standardise preparation steps across series of samples. These CHROMABOND XTR units are positioned as chromatography accessories for routine extraction and clean-up tasks where kieselguhr-based support and convenient packaging are required.

This article is part of SPE cartridges & columns, in SPE & sample preparation.

Questions about Chromab. Sorbent XTR, 50x14.5 g, NT20

What is this article?

Chromab. Sorbent XTR, 50x14.5 g, NT20 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Macherey-Nagel for laboratory use. It sits in SPE cartridges & columns, inside SPE & sample preparation, in Chromatography equipment.

An SPE cartridge holds a bed of sorbent. Bed mass, sorbent chemistry and volume are the specification. A 100 mg C18 cartridge and a 1 g C18 cartridge take different sample loads and different elution volumes. The method names all three.

Solid-phase extraction holds a compound on a sorbent while the rest of the sample is washed away, then releases it in a small volume. The sorbent, the bed mass and the solvents are the method. Silica, ion exchangers and polymer phases do different jobs. A flash column is the same idea scaled toward purification rather than trace cleanup. The molecules are on PubChem, named by IUPAC.
