Description

Prepared COD vials (LR) 0–150 mg/l, mercury-free, are reagent-prefilled tubes for chemical oxygen demand (COD/CSB) determination in water analysis. Each vial measures Ø 16 mm × 100 mm and contains 3,3 ml of reagents, of which 2,4 ml is sulfuric acid (CAS 7664-93-9). The low-range working interval of 0–150 mg/l supports routine monitoring of lightly loaded samples. This pack comprises 150 pieces and is offered by manufacturer Labbox under the METRIA line. The tubes fit the PrimeLab 1.0 Multitest WATER-ID photometer and other instruments that accept standard 16 mm vials, including LOVIBOND, WTW, MACHEREY-NAGEL, MERCK, HANNA, AQUALYTIC, PALIN, BIOCHROM, HACH and comparable systems. Mercury-free COD vials are a safer choice for environment and occupational health than mercury-based reagents; however, they do not deliver the same precision and reliability as methods that use mercuric sulfate. For formal compliance testing, many supervisory authorities still expressly require mercury sulfate to suppress chloride interference. These ready-to-use vials streamline sample preparation and help laboratories maintain consistent photometric COD workflows where a mercury-free low-range option is specified.

What is this article?

COD (LR) 0 - 150 mg/l prepared vials, mercury-free, 150 pcs is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in ICP, AAS & ion standards, inside Analytical standards & reference materials, in Lab chemicals.

An ICP, AAS or ion standard is a solution of a stated element or ion at a stated concentration, with an uncertainty. It is the calibration point of a spectrometer or an electrode. The matrix, often dilute acid, has to match the method. A standard past its expiry is not that concentration.

A reference material is the article against which another result is compared. Its value is stated, and the uncertainty of that value is part of the product. An ICP or ion standard is a solution of known concentration. A volumetric standard is for titration. A chromatography standard is the peak you match. The grade names, including pharmacopoeia and ASTM, say which impurities were limited. Identity is checked on PubChem. Names follow IUPAC. Medicinal grades follow the European Pharmacopoeia and USP.
