Description

Deuterium lamp (D2) DS 272 TJ is a replacement UV light source intended for selected PerkinElmer diode-array detector configurations used in liquid chromatography. The lamp type DS 272 TJ is specified for PerkinElmer Series 200 DAD Phase I, Series 200 DAD Phase II and Series LC 200 DAD systems, corresponding to OEM numbers N2922010 and N2922046. A new lamp is provided if service life falls short of the guaranteed lifetime stated for the product. As a dedicated D2 source, it supports the UV continuum required by these DAD modules for wavelength-resolved detection in HPLC workflows. Supplied as a single piece from manufacturer Altmann Analytik, the lamp is aimed at laboratories maintaining Series 200 and LC 200 DAD instruments that need a compatible deuterium replacement without altering the optical path design of the original detector. Correct installation according to the instrument manufacturer’s service guidance ensures reliable UV output for routine analytical work.

Questions about Deuterium Lamp (D2) DS 272 TJ for PerkinElmer Series 200 DAD Phase 1/2/LC

What is this article?

Deuterium Lamp (D2) DS 272 TJ for PerkinElmer Series 200 DAD Phase 1/2/LC is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Altmann Analytik for laboratory use. It sits in Lamps, cuvette holders & accessories, inside Spectroscopy & photometry, in Lab instruments.

A spectrophotometer's lamp, deuterium for UV and tungsten for visible, is a consumable with a life in hours. A cuvette holder sets the path. A 10 mm holder does not correctly read a 1 mm cell unless the software is told. The accessory has to fit that optical bench.

A photometer or spectrophotometer sends light through a sample and reads how much was absorbed. In the range where the Beer–Lambert relation holds, absorbance tracks concentration. A refractometer reads how a liquid bends light, which tracks dissolved solids. A polarimeter reads the rotation of polarised light, the classical measurement for sugars. The lamp, the wavelength and the cuvette path length are the three things that have to be right before the number means anything. The optical quantities trace to NIST and the BIPM.
