Description

Distillation receivers according to Bernhauer, 100 ml, are precision glassware assemblies intended for fractional distillation and sample collection in the laboratory. Each complete set comprises three round-bottom flasks of 100 ml capacity with NS 14/23 ground joints, connected via a central receiver body fitted with a suction olive and a 29/32 socket. The configuration allows sequential collection of distillate fractions under reduced pressure when attached to a vacuum source. Manufactured by Witeg, the apparatus is suitable for organic synthesis, solvent purification and analytical sample preparation where controlled separation of boiling fractions is required. The standardised ground-glass joints ensure vacuum-tight connections with common laboratory glassware. Compact and ready for immediate use, the Bernhauer-style receivers support efficient multi-fraction workflows without the need for intermediate disassembly. Net weight of the complete unit is 0,23 kg, making it convenient for both benchtop and fume-hood applications.

Questions about DISTILLING RECEIVERS, ACC. TO BERNHAUER

What is this article?

DISTILLING RECEIVERS, ACC. TO BERNHAUER is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Witeg for laboratory use. It sits in Distillation heads, adapters & columns, inside Distillation & extraction glassware, in Labware.

A still head, an adapter or a column is the glass between the boiling flask and the condenser. A Vigreux or packed column gives the vapour a surface so a closer-boiling mixture can separate. The joint sizes at both ends have to match the flask and the condenser.

Distillation separates liquids by boiling point. A condenser turns the vapour back into liquid: Liebig, coil and cold-finger shapes differ in how much cooling surface they offer. A still head and a column sit between the flask and the condenser. A Soxhlet extractor washes a solid again and again with the same solvent. Ground joints have a standard size, and the joint, not the flask, is what has to match. The pieces are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
