Description
DO500 polarographic electrode for dissolved oxygen is the replacement electrode for the SX700 series and is intended for use with the SX716 meter. It measures dissolved oxygen (DO) in aqueous solutions by the polarographic method and is supplied with a calibration sleeve. An integrated temperature sensor and salinity sensor enable automatic compensation. The electrode uses an exchangeable DO503 membrane cap; three DO503 membrane caps are included in the scope of delivery. After only 5 minutes of polarisation the sensor is ready for measurement. Response is rapid, reaching 90 % of the final value within 30 seconds. Measuring range covers 0 to 20,00 mg/l with a response time of ≤ 30 s (90 % reaction at 25 °C). Temperature compensation spans 0 to 45 °C, salinity compensation 0 to 45 ppt, and the cable length is 2 m. Delivery comprises the DO500 polarographic DO electrode, calibration sleeve, three DO503 membrane caps and DO502 electrolyte solution for refilling. Connection is realised via cable with BNC connector. This electrode from manufacturer APERA Instruments is backed by a 6-month manufacturer warranty.

Questions about DO500 Polarized Dissolved Oxygen Electrode (for SX716)
What is this article?
DO500 Polarized Dissolved Oxygen Electrode (for SX716) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Dissolved oxygen & multiparameter meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A dissolved-oxygen meter reads oxygen in a liquid, optically or with a Clark cell. A multiparameter meter adds pH, conductivity or both on one instrument. The sensor cap or the membrane is the consumable. A reading in air and a reading in water are different calibrations.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
