Description

DURAN® bromobutyl rubber stopper for GL 25 and GL 45 laboratory bottles is a straight, grey elastomer closure that delivers a gas-tight seal for sensitive contents. Made from bromobutyl rubber, the stopper is impermeable to gases and therefore maintains a controlled atmosphere for oxygen-sensitive substances and anaerobic cultures. The elastic material reseals reliably after repeated needle punctures, enabling convenient syringe sampling while remaining essentially free of organic extractables that could migrate into incubation media. Form and material properties are optimised for DURAN® GL 25 and GL 45 bottles. The elastomer complies with USP and EP 3.2.9 Type I chemistry and penetration testing. Usable from -50 to +121 °C, it can be autoclaved or steam-sterilised at 121 °C for 20 minutes. This stopper from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences is supplied in packs of ten and suits anaerobic microbiology, storage of oxygen- or moisture-sensitive materials such as APIs, nitrogen blanketing, gas sparging and syringe-based sample transfer.
