DURAN® desiccator lid, type WERTEX (NS 24/29), is a vacuum-capable laboratory cover equipped with a ring-groove flange for desiccators used to store moisture-sensitive substances and dry moist products. Produced from borosilicate glass 3.3 with nominal diameter DN 150, it achieves a dense seal through a standard ground joint and features a special NS 24/29 tubulus with groove. The design is intended for matching desiccator bases. Moisture is bound by a drying agent located in the lower base compartment, separated from the sample by a metal or porcelain perforated plate. Vacuum applied through a stopcock connection reduces pressure and accelerates liquid evaporation. After evacuation the lid is pressed onto the base, therefore the flat ground joint must be well greased to allow easier release. All DURAN® desiccators from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences are vacuum-tight to the technically maximum possible vacuum. Applications include removal of moisture from solids, long-term storage of humidity-sensitive materials, vacuum drying and safe work under vacuum. Pack size is 1 pc.
