DURAN® desiccator lid type WERTEX (NS 24/29) with ring groove flange is a vacuum-compatible laboratory cover made from borosilicate glass 3.3 for DN 250 desiccator bases. It forms a tight seal via the standard ground joint and incorporates a specialised NS 24/29 socket with groove, making it suitable for all matching WERTEX lower parts. The complete DURAN® desiccator system stores moisture-sensitive substances and dries moist products: a drying agent placed beneath a perforated metal or porcelain plate binds humidity from samples resting above. Connecting vacuum through a stopcock accelerates evaporation under reduced pressure. All such desiccators remain vacuum-tight up to the technically maximum achievable vacuum. After evacuation the lid is pressed firmly onto the base, so the flat ground joint must be properly greased for easy release.
