Description

DURAN® drying tube, bent, with NS cone NS 24/29 is a laboratory glassware component intended for moisture protection and drying duties in chemical setups. Fabricated from borosilicate glass 3.3, the angled tube carries a standard ground joint cone at one end while the opposite end remains open. Preparation consists of inserting a small cotton-wool plug, charging the desiccant, and securing the charge with a second cotton plug so that the drying agent cannot fall out. The standard ground joint delivers a tight seal, the bent geometry aids convenient mounting, and the white printed marking is permanently fired into the glass for lasting legibility. Supplied as a single piece with a net weight of 0,053 kg and gross weight of 0,056 kg from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the tube is employed to shield apparatus from humidity and to dry incoming air or gases. Its robust construction supports routine laboratory handling while ensuring reliable desiccation performance in analytical and synthetic workflows.

Questions about DURAN® Drying Tube, bent, with standard ground cone

What is this article?

DURAN® Drying Tube, bent, with standard ground cone is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Distillation heads, adapters & columns, inside Distillation & extraction glassware, in Labware.

A still head, an adapter or a column is the glass between the boiling flask and the condenser. A Vigreux or packed column gives the vapour a surface so a closer-boiling mixture can separate. The joint sizes at both ends have to match the flask and the condenser.

Distillation separates liquids by boiling point. A condenser turns the vapour back into liquid: Liebig, coil and cold-finger shapes differ in how much cooling surface they offer. A still head and a column sit between the flask and the condenser. A Soxhlet extractor washes a solid again and again with the same solvent. Ground joints have a standard size, and the joint, not the flask, is what has to match. The pieces are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
