The Standard Taper ground glass joint creates a tight, leak-proof closure; grease is recommended for heating or vacuum applications. Fabricated entirely from borosilicate glass 3.3, the stopper contains only glass components and is therefore suitable for the storage of aggressive materials. Typical uses include keeping air-sensitive reagents and chemicals as well as hygroscopic solids, granules and powders. These stoppers from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences combine chemical resistance with reliable sealing performance. Care should be taken when pairing with soda-lime glass bottles, as temperature differences exceeding 30 °C can cause the stopper to stick.
