DURAN® Liebig Condenser (West Condenser), NS 24/29, 400 mm is a recognised laboratory condenser employed for distilling reaction mixtures. The apparatus features a central tube equipped with standard ground joints at both ends and an outer glass jacket. Cooling water is circulated through the jacket by the countercurrent principle to enhance cooling efficiency. Characteristic attributes include a comparatively small cooling surface resulting in moderate cooling capacity and two detachable plastic olives that simplify connection of the coolant inlet and outlet. The ground joints guarantee a tight closure. Applications encompass product cooling for distillate separation, distillation and countercurrent cooling.
