Description
DURAN® Screw Connection Cap with central bore, made of red PBT and sized GL 14, is an open laboratory screw closure designed for controlled access to bottle contents. High sealing performance is achieved through a PTFE-coated silicone gasket based on peroxide-cured silicone, offering greater chemical resistance than conventional polypropylene closures. The central opening permits aseptic reagent dispensing or culture sampling by means of a syringe and needle while the bottle remains closed. A matching red ETFE pouring ring is available separately to support clean, drip-free working. Compatible with standard GL bottle threads, the red PBT cap is supplied as a single piece with a net weight of 0,003 kg. From manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, this connection closure is suited to applications requiring repeated sterile access without full opening of the vessel. The combination of PBT body and PTFE-coated silicone seal provides a durable, chemically resistant interface for routine laboratory liquid handling and sampling tasks.

Questions about DURAN® Open Topped Screw Cap, central aperture, PBT, red
What is this article?
DURAN® Open Topped Screw Cap, central aperture, PBT, red is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.
A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.
A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
