Description
DURAN® Original GL 45 laboratory bottle, amber, is a multifunctional laboratory bottle with a nominal volume of 0,1 l, moulded from high-purity USP/EP Type I borosilicate glass 3.3. The glass is valued for outstanding thermal behaviour and strong chemical resistance; combined with the robust ISO 4796-1 design this yields a long working life. Externally fused amber colouration shields light-sensitive contents from photodegradation. UV protection meets international USP/EP requirements and persists for the entire bottle lifetime. Amber bottles carry an easily readable graduated volume scale and a durable white enamel writing field. A permanently printed Retrace Code on every bottle guarantees full manufacturing traceability. This version is supplied complete with the familiar blue polypropylene screw closure (integrated lip seal) and drip-free pouring ring, rated for use up to 140 °C. All components are fully autoclavable at 121 or 134 °C. Standardised GL 45 thread and matched closure systems provide a particularly tight seal and clean, controlled pouring. External colouration preserves unaltered DURAN® properties inside the bottle. Suitable for preparation, storage, transport of light-sensitive materials, autoclaving of media and reagents, and as a culture vessel. Available from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences.

A laboratory glass bottle is borosilicate or soda-lime, with a stated capacity and a neck for a screw cap or a ground stopper. Glass is the choice when the liquid attacks a plastic, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved.
A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
