Description

DURAN® threaded tube GL 32 with NS 24/29 cone is a laboratory glass connector featuring both a DIN screw thread and a standard ground joint. Produced from borosilicate glass 3.3, it enables apparatus components to be attached at either end and thereby linked into a continuous glass system. The ground joint provides a tight seal, and the DIN thread allows secure screw coupling in modular setups. Intended for installation in glass apparatus, the tube is available in packs of 10 pieces from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences. Threaded pipes of length 50 mm with GL 32 (cone 24/29) are special sizes and not according to DIN ISO. This GL 32 / NS 24/29 design offers a practical interface piece for laboratories that combine threaded and ground-joint connections. The borosilicate glass 3.3 construction delivers the chemical resistance and thermal stability associated with DURAN® glassware for research and analytical glass constructions.

Questions about DURAN® Tube with Screw Thread, with DIN thread, and standard ground cone

What is this article?

DURAN® Tube with Screw Thread, with DIN thread, and standard ground cone is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
