Description
DURAN® two-neck round-bottom flask with standard ground joints provides a 100 ml nominal volume, center neck NS 29/32 and angled side neck NS 14/23. Made of borosilicate glass 3.3, it is designed for distillation, fractionation and reaction procedures that require simultaneous attachment of condensers, columns, thermometers, dropping funnels or boiling capillaries. The angled side neck and spherical base promote uniform heating when the flask is placed in heating baths or heating mantles. Ground joints ensure a dense, leak-resistant closure, and the white print is fired into the glass for permanent legibility. Extraction work and coupling to additional glassware are equally well supported. Supplied as one piece from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, this multi-neck flask offers the flexibility demanded by modern laboratory workflows. The 100 ml capacity with the stated joint sizes is outside DIN ISO, yet it continues to be widely selected for reliable multi-port experimental configurations.
This article is part of Round-bottom flasks, in Beakers & flasks. See also Flat-bottom flasks.

Questions about DURAN® Twin-Neck Round Bottom Flask, standard ground joint, angled side neck
What is this article?
DURAN® Twin-Neck Round Bottom Flask, standard ground joint, angled side neck is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.
A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.
A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
