Description
DURAN® Patent stopcock with PTFE key, complete is a 2-way laboratory stopcock with a 4 mm bore and NS 18,8 joint. This complete assembly includes a PTFE patent stopcock key and is manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3. The polished stopcock surface enables grease-free working, while the key is firmly secured in the barrel by a three-part stopcock retainer. These stopcocks from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences are frequently used for the construction of Schlenk lines (vacuum-inert gas lines and nitrogen manifolds) as well as other vacuum applications. As a glass article intended for further processing, the unit integrates readily into custom glass apparatus requiring reliable two-way flow control under clean conditions. Laboratory setups benefit from the absence of grease contamination during sensitive chemical work. The net weight is 0,095 kg. For applications with particularly high demands on leak rate, PRODURAN® valves are recommended as an alternative solution.
This article is part of Stopcocks & valves, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about DURAN® Two Way Stopcock, double oblique bore, with PTFE key
What is this article?
DURAN® Two Way Stopcock, double oblique bore, with PTFE key is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.
A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.
Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
