Description
DURAN® volumetric flask, Class A, with CoC and batch certificate and blue print is a precision glass vessel for accurate volumetric work in the laboratory. This clear 200 ml flask is manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3 and carries a ground joint NS 14/23. It meets ISO 1042 requirements and belongs to the highest accuracy class A, whose volume tolerances are approximately half those of class B. A permanently fired blue print with ring mark ensures clear readability, while calibration is performed for content (“In”) at the +20 °C reference temperature. Each flask is delivered with an ergonomic polyethylene stopper that allows rapid, secure opening and closing. Class A flasks bearing a batch number are supplied with a batch certificate that records the mean value obtained from the measured batch, the standard deviation and the date of issue; certificates are also retrievable online. The four-digit batch code indicates production year followed by batch number. Typical applications include preparation and storage of standard solutions, measurement of liquid volumes, dilution, mixing of components and general volumetric analysis. These instruments from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences should not be heated above +250 °C in drying cabinets or sterilizers in order to preserve long-term volumetric stability. The pack contains 2 pieces.
This article is part of Volumetric flasks, in Volumetric glassware.

Questions about DURAN® Volumetric Flask, Class A, with CoC and batch certificate, blue print
What is this article?
DURAN® Volumetric Flask, Class A, with CoC and batch certificate, blue print is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Volumetric flasks, inside Volumetric glassware, in Labware.
A volumetric flask is calibrated to contain one volume at a reference temperature, with a single mark on a narrow neck. Class A is the tight tolerance. It is not a storage bottle and it is not for heating. The stopper is part of the calibrated article.
Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
