Particularly fast temperature probe, TC type K is a thermocouple sensor with a flexible, low-mass tip for air temperature measurements and for work in liquid and pasty media, especially small volumes such as Petri dishes. Surface measurements are also possible when the probe is fixed at the measuring point with adhesive tape. Its very thin tip of only 0,25 mm diameter gives an exceptionally short response time of 1 second, so brief temperature peaks can be captured and air measurements remain responsive. The probe covers a wide range from −200 to +1000 °C. An oval (2,2 mm × 1,4 mm) FEP-insulated thermocouple lead of 2 m length can be fed through narrow openings such as door gaps or refrigerator seals and is heat-resistant up to +200 °C. This type K class 1 probe from manufacturer Testo provides standardised accuracy of ±1,5 °C or 0,004 × |t| (the higher value applies) in the range −40 to +1000 °C. It is supplied as a single unit for flexible laboratory and process temperature monitoring.
