Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate with diameter 150 mm and porosity 3 is a round, centred laboratory disc made from borosilicate glass 3.3. Nominal thickness is 10,0 mm with a tolerance of ± 2,2 mm, and the surface is left untreated. The plate is supplied as a single piece for use in filtration setups that call for porosity grade 3 at this diameter. Its borosilicate 3.3 composition and defined geometry suit integration into filter holders, glass apparatus and related laboratory assemblies. Available from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon, this VitraPOR® filter plate offers a consistent circular form that is centred for even seating. Porosity 3 identifies the pore class of the glass filter body so users can match the grade to their filtration protocol. The untreated finish preserves the native glass surface for sealing, clamping or further laboratory processing. With a 150 mm diameter and controlled thickness tolerance, the disc supports larger-format filtration work in research and routine laboratory environments where a defined VitraPOR® porosity grade is required.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 150 mm, Por. 3 Thickness 10 mm ± 2.2 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
