Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate made of borosilicate glass 3.3, diameter 70 mm, porosity 0, thickness 5,5 mm with a tolerance of ± 1,3 mm. The untreated, round and centred surface is designed for laboratory filtration applications requiring a rigid sintered-glass disc. Porosity grade 0 provides a defined pore structure suitable for coarse filtration or as a support element in custom filter assemblies. Manufactured from chemically resistant borosilicate 3.3 glass, the plate withstands typical laboratory thermal and chemical conditions. Packaged in units of 5 pieces from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon, these discs are non-sterile and intended for integration into filtration apparatus, gas washing bottles or specialised glassware. The consistent diameter and thickness tolerance support reproducible mounting and sealing in standard holders.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 70 mm, Por. 0 Thickness 5.5 mm ± 1.3 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
