Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate with 90 mm diameter and porosity grade 0 is produced from borosilicate glass 3.3. The disc has a thickness of 6,5 mm with a tolerance of ± 1,5 mm, an untreated surface and a round, centred geometry for precise seating. This filter plate from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon is intended for laboratory filtration work that requires a defined coarse porosity. Supplied in packs of 5 pieces, the plates support routine solid-liquid separation, clarification and sample preparation. Borosilicate glass 3.3 delivers the chemical resistance and thermal stability expected of quality laboratory glass media. Porosity 0 represents the coarsest grade in the standard series, enabling high flow rates while retaining larger particles. The untreated sintered surface preserves the natural pore structure, and the centred round form ensures reliable fit in conventional filter holders and apparatus. Non-sterile and robust, the plate withstands typical handling and operating conditions in scientific and industrial laboratories.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 90 mm, Por. 0 Thickness 6.5 mm ± 1.5 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
