Description

pH electrode for surfaces, skin, leather, paper and emulsions with 1 m cable and BNC connector is a glass-body sensor with an open junction and flat tip, built for direct contact measurements on flat or semi-solid samples. Typical applications include skin, leather, paper, general flat surfaces and emulsions where a conventional bulb tip would be impractical. The single Ag/AgCl reference uses Viscolene electrolyte, and the open junction supports stable readings on low-liquid or surface matrices. Measuring range is pH 0 to 12, with a recommended operating temperature of 0 to 50 °C and a maximum pressure of 0,1 bar. A coaxial 1 m cable ends in a BNC connector; shorter-cable and screw-connector versions exist for dedicated skin-check instruments. This electrode from manufacturer Hanna Instruments contains neither a temperature sensor nor an amplifier. Pack size is one piece, with net weight 0,24 kg and gross weight 1,24 kg. The flat-tip, open-junction design makes it a practical choice for surface and emulsion pH work in laboratory and quality-control settings.

Questions about Flat Tip pH Electrode for Skin and Surfaces with BNC Connector

What is this article?

Flat Tip pH Electrode for Skin and Surfaces with BNC Connector is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
