Description
Glass silk-insulated heating cable MIL-HC-GS is a ready-to-connect flexible heating lead for laboratory and process applications. This version has a length of 2,0 m and a nominal power of 250 W at 230 V AC. The construction comprises glass silk braiding with an outer protective braid of nickel-plated copper; the cable is protective-earthed yet not moisture-protected. Outer diameter measures Ø 4 - 5 mm and the minimum bending radius is greater than 6 mm, while the maximum heating conductor temperature reaches 450 °C. It is supplied fully prefabricated with two 1,5 m connection leads without plug. Net and gross weight are each 0,3 kg. Offered by manufacturer ISOHEAT/SAF Wärmetechnik, the cable is suited to heating tapes, heating bands and container heating duties where reliable high-temperature performance and mechanical flexibility are required. The robust braid design supports consistent heat delivery around vessels or equipment in controlled thermal environments.

What is this article?
Glass fibre insulated heating cable MIL-HC-GS, 2,0 m, 250 W / 230 V is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ISOHEAT/SAF Wärmetechnik for laboratory use. It sits in Heating tapes, cables & plates, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.
A heating tape or cable wraps a tube, a valve or a vessel that has no mantle. Power per length and the maximum temperature are the specification. A tape overlapped on itself overheats. It needs a controller. Plugged straight in, it does not hold a set point.
Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
