Description
Glass fibre microfilter grade GFFC (1,2 µm) is a binder-free circular filter produced from 100 % borosilicate glass microfibres for rapid laboratory filtration with strong retention of fine particles. Specified with a pore size of 1,2 µm, grammage of 55 g/m² and thickness of 270 µm, it is a standard medium for determining suspended solids (MES) in drinking water or wastewater in line with European EN 872 and American Standard Methods 2540D. The filters tolerate high temperatures and are supplied as 25 mm round discs in packs of 100 pieces. Cross-references include Whatman GF/C, Macherey Nagel GF-3, Millipore AP40 and S and S GF52. From manufacturer Labbox, grade GFFC supports environmental monitoring, water analysis and general particle collection where reproducible glass-fibre performance is required. The combination of pore rating, basis weight and diameter fits common laboratory holders used for gravimetric and clarification applications.

Questions about Glass microfiber filter, GFFC grade (1,2 um), Ø25 mm, 100 pcs
What is this article?
Glass microfiber filter, GFFC grade (1,2 um), Ø25 mm, 100 pcs is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Glass & quartz fibre filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
Glass-fibre and quartz-fibre filters are depth filters with a high dirt load, used for air sampling, for total suspended solids and in front of a membrane. They have no sharp pore-size cutoff the way a membrane does. Binderless grades matter when the filter will be weighed or heated.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
