Description
Glass stopper of solid amber SBW glass with standard ground joint NS 19/26 and octagonal head closes flasks, reagent bottles and other glassware equipped with matching ground joint necks. The Standard Taper ground glass joint produces a tight, leak-proof seal; grease may be used for heating or vacuum applications. External brown colouring provides UV protection while retaining long-term durability and chemical resistance of the tint. Because the stopper consists only of glass components it is suitable for aggressive materials. Borosilicate glass 3.3 ensures robust performance under typical laboratory conditions. The octagonal head allows secure handling. Supplied by manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences under the DURAN® mark, the stopper is particularly useful for light-sensitive reagents, pharmaceuticals and chemicals, as well as air-sensitive reagents and hygroscopic solids, granules and powders. The solid construction and NS 19/26 joint deliver reliable sealing in everyday laboratory storage. Packaged as 10 pieces for efficient laboratory supply.

Questions about Glass Stopper, SBW glass, amber, with standard ground joint, octagonal
What is this article?
Glass Stopper, SBW glass, amber, with standard ground joint, octagonal is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Ground-joint glass stoppers, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.
A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck of a stated joint size. A 14/23 stopper does not seal a 29/32 neck. The stopper is part of the flask's seal, and a chip on the grind is a leak.
A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
