Description

Heating cable PILZ® WBG glass-silk insulated is a flexible heating cable rated at 625 W with a maximum temperature of 400 °C and a length of 2,5 m. It operates at 230 V with a factory-fitted 0,4 m connection lead and delivers about 250 W/m. The design uses two parallel heating conductors with glass-silk insulation, a nickel protective braid and an outer braid of flexible glass silk. Dimensions are 35 × 5,0 mm, with a minimum bending radius greater than 15 mm. The cable is not moisture-protected. Operation together with a temperature controller is always recommended. This PILZ® WBG heating cable from manufacturer Winkler suits laboratory, pilot-plant and industrial applications that need rapid heat-up via high power concentration or high process temperatures. Benefits include very high constant power per metre, high possible operating temperature, extreme flexibility, easy mounting and cost-effective use. Good thermal contact is required; cables must not overlap or touch each other directly, and fixed-resistance heating cables must be run with a temperature controller.

What is this article?

Heating tape PILZ® WBG glass silk insulated 625W, length 2,5m, Tmax. is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Winkler for laboratory use. It sits in Heating mantles, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.

A heating mantle cups a round-bottom flask so the heat meets the glass without a bare flame. The flask volume the mantle was knitted for is the specification. A 1 L mantle under a 250 mL flask heats the air, not the liquid.

Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
