Description
Industrial scale IFC 6K1DM is a dual-range platform balance with weighing ranges of 3000 g and 6000 g and corresponding readabilities of 1 g and 2 g. Built to heavy industrial standards for rough everyday service, it follows the familiar KERN operating concept with consistent design, menu structure, key functions, interface connection and protocol. Industry 4.0 connectivity is provided by the KERN Universal Port (KUP): data and control commands travel through one housing interface or, via the KUP Extension Box, across up to three interfaces in parallel. Available options are RS-232, USB, Ethernet, WLAN and Bluetooth, each configurable independently—for continuous process logging to a PC, printing of stable weights or analogue control when a target weight is reached. A standard real-time clock timestamps results accurately even after power failure. Optional alibi memory allows paperless archiving of weighing data, including verified results for further electronic processing. Remote interrogation and control from computer or CRM/ERP systems use the KERN Communication Protocol. The platform from manufacturer Kern features a stainless steel weighing plate, painted steel base and silicone-coated aluminium load cell with IP65 dust and splash protection. A table stand with wall mount for the indicator and a protective working cover are included; battery replacement is simplified without disturbing an optional verification seal.

What is this article?
Industrial balance IFC 6K1DM, Weighing, range 3000 g; 6000 g, Readout 1 g; 2 g is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in Bench, platform & industrial scales, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.
A bench, platform or industrial scale takes kilograms to tonnes, with a platform instead of a small pan. Resolution is coarser. The load cell and the platform size are the specification. It is the scale for a drum or a packed goods check, not for a milligram of standard.
A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.

What should I check before I order?
When this page shows a safety data sheet, use that manufacturer file. Hazard text does not belong in the sales description. For a pack size, a grade or a certificate that is not on the page, send a quote request or contact the team.
How does ordering and shipping work?
