Description

KECK™ adapter KA complete, converting a glass olive to a plastic olive (RD 14, hose connection Ø 4,5 mm), is a laboratory coupling that reduces glass breakage at olives and protects fingers and hands during connection work. The clamping ring, O-ring and screw cap are permanently fastened to the glass olive, while the hose part attaches or detaches with only a quarter turn on the threaded cap, giving a fast, secure and tight joint that can be released just as quickly. Constructed with borosilicate glass 3.3 components, the adapter suits repeated laboratory use. Supplied as a complete single-piece unit with a net weight of 0,013 kg, it provides a practical interface between glassware olives and flexible tubing. From manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences under the DURAN® and KECK™ marks, the design focuses on safety and handling convenience. Typical applications include connecting a hose section to a threaded cap on bottles, vessels or apparatus where rapid, leak-tight olive transitions and reduced risk of glass damage are required in everyday lab workflows.

Questions about KECK™ Adapter KA , complete, from hose connection glass to connection plastic

What is this article?

KECK™ Adapter KA , complete, from hose connection glass to connection plastic is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
