LAUDA Puridest PD 8 D is a fully automatic bi-distillation water still for continuous laboratory water purification, suitable for wall mounting or bench placement. It produces 8 L/h of distillate, with mono-distillate conductivity of 2,2 µS/cm and bi-distillate conductivity of 1,6 µS/cm at 25 °C. Mono-distillate is taken off through a borosilicate glass 3.3 stopcock with PTFE plug; bi-distillate leaves via a free outlet with borosilicate glass 3.3 dust-protection bell. Stage-1 condenser is stainless steel; stage-2 condenser including splash barrier is DURAN® borosilicate glass 3.3. A solenoid valve controls water supply. Distillation of heated cooling water improves energy efficiency, and automatic shut-off prevents unnecessary water consumption. The still boiler is easily accessible for cleaning and includes a CO2 degassing opening on the condenser. Electronic fouling monitoring halts distillation and gives an optical cleaning prompt; electronic level monitoring runs throughout the process. Dual low-water safety combines a float switch with a thermostatic overtemperature protector. Heaters and boiler are stainless steel; the double-walled housing is powder-coated galvanised steel. An integrated external level switch supports a separate storage tank. Maximum heating power is 11,5 kW, cooling-water use 3,3 L/min, dimensions 700 × 390 × 700 mm and weight 45 kg.
