Description
Macro cuvette type 100-QX is a precision optical cell made from Extended Range quartz glass for spectrophotometric work across a wavelength range from 200 nm to 3500 nm. With a path length of 5 mm, a fill volume of 1750 µl and a PTFE fold-over lid, it delivers excellent transmission above 83 % for exact photometric results. Hellma® precision cuvettes from manufacturer Hellma (IDL) are manufactured entirely in Germany and are suitable for all common spectrophotometers. The cells are thermally bonded rather than glued, which provides high resistance to temperatures and chemicals and helps prevent unintended leakage of liquids. Selected Extended Range quartz glasses underpin the strong optical performance, while bevelled edges support safe, comfortable handling and reduce the risk of chipping. Path-length accuracy and parallelism are held to a high standard so that measurement results remain continuously reproducible. The cuvettes can be cleaned and reused for long-term laboratory service. Production follows EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001 and meets high optical standards. This single-piece macro cell is intended for spectroscopy applications where reliable UV–Vis–NIR transmission is required.

What is this article?
macro cell, 100 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hellma (IDL) for laboratory use. It sits in Cuvettes, in Labware.
A cuvette is an optical cell. The spectrophotometer or photometer sends a beam through a defined path length, usually 10 mm, and the absorbance is read from that path. Glass is for the visible range. Quartz or a UV-grade plastic is required below about 320 nm, because ordinary glass absorbs there. The path length and the wavelength window are the two numbers that choose the cell. The optical methods that use it sit with NIST and the BIPM. Laboratory ware is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
