Description

Micro filter candle Ø 20 mm, Por. 3, H 55 mm with glass tube is a cylindrical VitraPOR® filtration element fabricated from borosilicate glass 3.3 for laboratory solid-liquid separation and related immersion applications. The porous candle itself measures 20 mm in diameter and 55 mm in height at porosity grade 3 and is permanently joined to a narrow glass tube of matching 20 mm diameter, giving an overall length of 200 mm. This compact geometry from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon facilitates immersion filtration, gas dispersion, sample clarification or small-scale process work where defined pore characteristics and chemical durability are required. Borosilicate 3.3 construction supplies the thermal and chemical resistance expected in routine laboratory service. Porosity 3 provides intermediate retention suitable for fine-particle capture while preserving practical flow. The unit is supplied in packs of 5 pieces, allowing convenient stocking for analytical chemistry, method development and quality-control laboratories that rely on reusable glass filter candles of standardised dimensions and porosity.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

Questions about Micro-Filter Candle, Ø 20 mm, H 55 mm, Por. 3, with Tube

What is this article?

Micro-Filter Candle, Ø 20 mm, H 55 mm, Por. 3, with Tube is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
