Description
Minisart® HY venting filter 16599--------HYQ, 0,2 µm hydrophobic PTFE is a chemically inert single-use filter designed for venting applications as well as for gases and oils within the pH range 3–12. The hydrophobic PTFE membrane with 0,2 µm pore size supports sterile filtration duties while remaining chemically resistant. The unit is equipped with a Luer Slip inlet and a Luer Lock outlet for secure connections in laboratory setups. The HYQ version is supplied unsterile in a bag; individual units can subsequently be sterilised by ethylene oxide. Packaged in quantities of 500 pieces, this disposable filtration device is available only in the EU/EEA and registered countries and comes from manufacturer Sartorius as part of the Minisart® range. Its inert PTFE construction ensures reliable performance for controlled gas exchange, oil handling and sterile venting workflows. The pack net weight is 2,434 kg, making the product suitable for high-throughput laboratory and production environments requiring consistent hydrophobic filtration.
This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

Questions about MinisartPTFE;0.2 µm;26mm;nsterile;500
What is this article?
MinisartPTFE;0.2 µm;26mm;nsterile;500 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
