Description

Mobile Leeb hardness tester SAUTER HMM-NP is a portable rebound hardness instrument offering the same core measurement capability as the SAUTER HMM model, but without the infrared printer. A spring-propelled impact module contacts the workpiece; absorbed kinetic energy is evaluated and reported as Leeb hardness. The external type D rebound sensor maximises mobility compared with fixed bench systems or units that house the sensor internally. Automatic compensation supports testing in every direction (360°). A hardness comparison block (790 ± 40 HL) is included for routine checks. Up to nine measured values can be stored internally, and the mini-statistics display shows value, average, measuring direction, date and time. Hardness is indicated in Rockwell (B and C), Vickers (HV), Brinell (HB), Shore (HSD), Leeb (HL) and tensile strength (MPa), with automatic conversion between these units. Supplied from manufacturer Kern in a robust carrying case, the compact tester (net weight 0,25 kg) is well suited to mobile quality inspection and materials testing.

Questions about Mobile Leeb Hardness Tester SAUTER, HMM-NP

What is this article?

Mobile Leeb Hardness Tester SAUTER, HMM-NP is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
