Description

Nalgene™ Dropping Bottles are laboratory dropping bottles engineered for accurate, reliable, and repeatable dosing of a wide range of reagents. Fabricated from opaque low-density polyethylene (LDPE), they are especially suitable for light-sensitive solutions while remaining a strong alternative to conventional pipettors. Each round bottle holds 15 ml (0,5 oz) and delivers a defined drop size of 40 μl through the drop-control tip. The set includes the dispensing tip and white closures; closure size is 15 to 415 mm, and liquid is dispensed through the closure for controlled, dropwise application. Capacity of the dropper assembly is 15 ml. These bottles are supplied as a case of 25 from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics and manufactured under ISO 13485:2003. Nominal volume is 0,015 l with a case gross weight of 0,227 kg. They support reagent storage and dispensing, preparation of light-sensitive media, and routine laboratory liquid handling where opacity, chemical resistance of LDPE, and consistent drop volume are required.

This article is part of Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), in Bottles & containers.

Questions about Nalgene™ Dropper Bottles

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Dropper Bottles is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
