Description

Nalgene™ HDPE Lowboys with low profile, 15 l are low-profile carboys designed for convenient dispensing of most laboratory liquids, including reagents, distilled water and titrants. Constructed from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with a polypropylene closure, each vessel offers a metric capacity of 15 l (approximately 4 gal) and a space-saving low-profile shape that fits easily on shelves or under benches. The robust HDPE body provides good chemical resistance for everyday aqueous and many organic solutions while remaining lightweight for handling. These carboys from manufacturer Thermo Scientific – Laboratory Plastics are supplied as a case of four units and are not autoclavable. Gross weight of the packed unit is 8,250 kg. Ideal for bulk reagent storage, buffer preparation and titrant delivery in research, quality-control and teaching laboratories, the lowboys combine practical ergonomics with reliable material performance for routine liquid handling tasks.

Questions about Nalgene™ HDPE, Low-Profile Carboy

What is this article?

Nalgene™ HDPE, Low-Profile Carboy is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
