Description

Nalgene™ HDPE Platinum Certified Clean Bottle is a sterile ultraclean high-density polyethylene bottle with a nominal capacity of 30 mL (1 oz). It is designed so that particle content remains below one-third of the permissible limits according to USP <788>, helping maintain product integrity in sensitive workflows. The round, narrow-mouth, colourless bottle stands 61 mm high and includes a 20 mm polypropylene closure. Stated certification and conformity cover particle control below one-third of USP limits, USP Class VI, non-cytotoxic properties, USP 30 <661> compliance, non-pyrogenic status and FDA 21 CFR 177.1324. The bottle is not autoclavable. Supplied as a case of 72 pieces with 12 units per pack from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, these Platinum Certified Clean containers suit aliquoting, storage and transfer of solutions where low particulate burden is essential. A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
