Description

Nalgene™ HDPE Platinum Certified Clean wide-mouth bottle is a sterile 1 L laboratory container built to protect product integrity in particle-sensitive workflows. Made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), this colourless round bottle is designed so that particulate levels stay below one-third of the permissible limits under USP <788>. It is certified to USP Class VI, non-cytotoxic and non-pyrogenic, complies with USP 30 <661>, and meets the stated FDA 21CFR 177.1318 material requirements. A polypropylene closure (63 mm) is included; the bottle is not autoclavable and offers a wide opening for easy filling and recovery of contents. Height is given as 7,8 in. Ideal for clean storage and transfer of media, buffers and process liquids where ultra-low particle burden matters, these certified containers come from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics. Unit size is a case of 24 (6 per pack), supporting routine laboratory and production use without compromising cleanliness specifications.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
